Today, i removed my t-case(D-20) from my tranny(T-150 because the tranny was leaking gear oil through to the T-case. My intent was to replace the seal on the tranny. After removing the nut, I discovered that there was no seal! I went ahead and installed one and all is well. Went ahead and changed the seals in the t-case while I was at it. BTW, there was evidence that the PO had them separated before.

No doubt. The PO of my TJ did a helluva wiring job on the 6 lights. Wire was way too small... got really hot quick and blew a fuse if you ran them for more than 5 minutes or so.

No fuse blocks on the front 2 lights. Good wire though.

I was rewiring this stuff and had a red wire than turned into a green wire later on. That was confusing as hell until you actually pulled the wire and saw the connection.

The actual routing of the wire was shitty too, it was all over the place.. Glad that's over..

Well atleast the PO did put seals in the front end, just too bad they put em in backwards. Had to buy all new wheel and axle bearings.

I've had my CJ for about 7 years now... and just today I found that I'm still discovering stooooopid chit that the PO did. :shaking:

worst thing about the things I've found has been in the electrical. Now I'm a self proclaimed electrical idiot, but the PO was a freakin ELECTRICIAN!!!

Just because someone is qualified to wire a house does not make it ok for them to wire a auto. I don't know how many times I have found wire nuts on things that are out in the weather.

I ain't ever selling my heep, don't want to be called a dumbass PO. My CJ has its share of wire nuts, and I'm not even qualified to wire a house :flipoff2:

I agree completely!

I'm an electrician...but I won't work on a vehicles wiring..

Last week I saw an old Cutlass....that had 14-2(house wire) run for the blower fan!

gotta love those Goober wiring jobs from a neck PO especially the twist two together, no solder, and cheap electrical tape. Stripped bolts, missing bolts and SAE bolts jammed into metric holes plus welded on bumpers and trailer hitches. Where do those types hatch?
