are my only options an NP208/205? will a tcase from a small block C6 fit the output of the big block?
if i recall, bolt patterns on ford were all the same....but will i run into input shaft issues?

Should be the same pattern as a 6 bolt Jeep too. My Ranger has a SB C6 and had a Dana 300 behind it when I bought it. The input of the 300 had been swapped for a 31 spline shaft.

SB and BB C6's have same outputs but F250 BB C6's have longer shaft and adapter. Just have to keep the same adapter in between to match output shaft lengths.

There's 2 different adapter / shaft lengths. Basically F250 was longer (9") and everything else was shorter (6"). And ALL SB C6's and every FE C6 I've ever seen (FE not totally confirmed) was the 6"/shorter combo.

Swapped a many...

so in theory, i can use a tcase from any bronco with a C6, a Borgwarner something or other until i have the cash and time to put together a 203/205 right?

NP208, BW1356, NP203, NP205, all the same. All bolt up to M5OD, C6, AOD, E4OD, NP435, whatever. Only issue is that some of the later transmissions don't have the notch for the NP205 shift rail.

If you mix up the tailshaft housings between a long C6 and a short C6, you won't be able to bolt transfer cases to either one of them.

Thanks shawn, thats the info ive been looking for. ive got a 203 from the factory so the shift rail shouldnt be an issue. looks like i can source a 1356 to put in while i pull the 203 and prep it for the a doubler.

Ive got the short tailshaft, already measured that.
