Big Boy ladders...

So with Black Friday upon us, I'd like to snag a ladder. I'm not a small human being, so I need something with a 3-350lb weight rating. I have a couple 6' step ladders and a couple other extension ladders, but I'm looking for something that's convenient for indoor use. So a small(ish) footprint like a step ladder, but tall enough so I can reach the bulbs in the middle of my 12' ceilings. Would be great if telescoping was an option for shorter projects. But it seems most of those cap at 300lbs and weight rating changes as the ladder height changes, right??? Thoughts, opinions, recommendations???

Little Giant Ladder System. While there is a lot of hype around these, they are an absolute solid product. I made the mistake and bought the cheap Harbor freight version initially, but it is crap. Little giant is a very serious ladder, particularly for people our size. Extremely versatile and able to be configured multiple ways, including drop legs for uneven terrain. I highly recommend them…

Werner also makes a telescoping ladder now similar to the little giant. As a straight ladder it extends to 22’ IIRC. I’m 210 lbs and have carried shingle bundles on it, putting it in the 275 lb range. It’s pretty solid as a straight ladder; super solid as an A-frame.

Type 1aaa ladders are awesome @ 375lb rating...I use the 300-lb ladders often, but love the the two sided 1aaa ladders for stability.

My 330-lb frame loves killing the blue, 225/250 rated ladders.

x2 on the Little Giant. My only knock is the sumbitch is relatively heavy but that's what ya get with its versatility.

X3 on the Lil Giants. They are heavy. My side job was movie theater maintenance an that’s all we used to change bulbs an ceiling tiles. Which the ones we used would go 20-25 feet up but they are a nice piece of equipment. But they are freaking heavy

I have a Warner aluminum little giant type. It's bloody heavy but very strong. I have used it for scafolding.
In a less then bright moment on my part it saved me from being dang near killed. Cut a 8ish diameter limb from a oak. Stupid me didn't consider it hitting the ground on the end and pinning me saw and ladder against the tree. Hurt, scared and dumbfounded I was stuck.
Had the ladder caved I don't know what would have happened. It was all I could do to get untangled and out from under the limb.
After limping around and thinking I was just saved by some grace of God I had to use a tractor to get the limb off the ladder.
I still use the ladder, but not for trimming trees anymore.

Breaks down to make two scafolds.I cuss it every time I carry it....until I am standing on it fully extended hanging off the top rung.

I second the Werner style ladder. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I used to work for a company that had a little giant ladder. X whatever on it being stout but heavy. I'm a little guy but used to carry logs weighing almost my weight up it.. with no concerns.

Little giant makes a great product but you pay for it. The Werner knock off is a good strong ladder for us bigger guys. Had a drywall repair guy that had to be over 400 lbs use mine with no issues a few years back.

Those convertible ladders are such a heavy pain in the ass. I'd rather buy 3 different sizes of fixed A-frame ladders just so I don't have to deal with those ones Groupon has for sale. We have a Warner one at work, and it sucks soooo bad to lug around and set up.
