We chased it this morning, shop was slow, couldn't get too close with the cops blocking roads but we got to see a good bit of the flames.

I was coming over 40 on guilford college this morning and saw it. The smoke clouds were so huge. I thought it was a plane crash or another terrorist attack. It was crazy looking, still smoke rising from over there now.

Similar happened in Mecklenburg County, at a Steel plant. I was a Jr. Fireman, then, just a couple years ago. Plant melts scrap, & forms Rebar. The overhead crane, one night, carried some fire, from the furnance, back to the scrap pile. We poured water, till I was standing in 6" of HOT, water! Only way to put it out, was the crane picked up a load,& we that out, before dropping it in a new pile. The metal was so hot,it just feed itself!
