Big Dogs Main Jamboree - 9/18-9/20

I usually ride up with a friend of mine...but...

I have NOT been invited..

definately worth the ride....everything from mild to wild. I forgot the name of the trail but we spent half a day in a rock garden that went on forever. I've had a great time there.

Awesome wheeling to be had there. Something for everyone, just make sure you get in a group that is your level. I don't think we pre-registered when we went up, just paid when we got there. Hate I'm missing this!

Good deal!.. We're having to show up Friday night (work), hopefully in time for the spectacle that is the mud pit...

Hey slappy (Juggy) you wanna go? Leaving Thursday night after work :)

I don't know why more people don't go, its only 4.5hrs towing from Raleigh. Its private land and the trails are great. Don't let the name scare you. I was the first time I went up not knowing what to expect etc.. ~50-60% were on <35"s Plenty of trails for ALL types of rigs..

Thanks for the invite ...Would really like to go there again, super great time before...but other commitments are gonna keep me here...

Show em how it's done on that Insanity Trail again...!!!

thurs..

Should be up their thursday night.. Maybe see you around Rich..

5 hrs from mocksville... Nope, she is with child... 5 months in to it...

Good to see PJ, Yager, & Gavin there... We had a blast, and the rig held up great, even during our "spirited" night run with Bigelow & company...

PJ - The buggy is tits man.. I was really impressed with the room inside it...so was Nicole. And it works as good as it looks!

Thanks Man.. I had a good time.. Yeah that night run was def what we were looking for after the first night run.. Met some great people and saw some great rigs up there.. will be attending another one sometime in the future..

Though I wasn't driving I still had a great time, the weather was perfect. The trip up was uneventful.

The trails were good as usual. I rode with the Delaware 4x4 association (Gavan's former wheeling pals) We ran both days with little trouble. New to the DW group was a mud slinging convert trying out the rocks. He had some 9" beefed axles front/rear with proper gears and boggers (of course) but his stock TJ tierod did him in. Luckily one of the other TJ guys had his standard issue spare tierod.

Somehow I ended up changing it for him. 15min later we were rolling.. Some how earlier in the day Gavan found an abandoned Rubicon hood about 12' off the trail, so we rode all day with this thing strapped to his jeep... His jeep was doing good all weekend even his annoying loud mouth passenger didn't stop him.. Arron flopped over I was busy helping him get it righted quickly to snap a pic, but it wasn't to bad a flop. Back at camp we had 2day marinaded steaks on the grill... Yummers...

The second day we ran some harder stuff, actually took a few pics. Early on Arron broke the left shaft on his 9" FF axle. So he was beating on it as usual to get where he was going. His rig is his X-comp rig from the stock something class. Its got a 609 front with 60 birfs. (ya those). I was calling him all sorts of names every time he did a full power 45deg front dig. Its amazing what those extra 5-8deg do for pulling the front end around with cutting brakes. Anyway.... the TJ were all built well and they wern't really afraid to get on it when they needed to. One climbed up V trail (Uturn?) I got some videos but I took them sideways, though I haevn't figured out how to turn them yet :)

Gavan's fuel pump hose busted inside the tank. So he was having some trouble with it running and we eventually were strapped back to camp by the mud guy and his almighty 4cyl TJ.

Back at camp we got down to business. Gavan worked on creating the ultimate mans meal... Bacon Explosion I guess the recipe was from PBB (where else) but let me tell you.... Hmmmmmmm Hmmmmmmm Hmmmmmmmmm...

Sometime later in the evening Rich happened by to see if I wanted to ride along on a night run. So I hopped in his buggy and we tore off to find the rest of the gang that was going... I rode with Rich awhile then hopped in with PJ for a bit to test out his passenger seat.. I'd guess we ran more trail in the night run then we did the rest of the 2 days.

Overall it was a good trip... I'm sure I forgot several parts and possibly even a day or two, but oh well I was there and you weren't ! :fuck-you:

Hey Rich, not sure if you remember me, I used to hang out with the Muddevils and I had that purple low 2 seater with the Tuned Port Inj. I used to go by buggybuilder. I remember your rig before you even had tons on it. I live in Winchester now and I seen you leaving Gore after the event.....couldnt believe you rig is sitting on Rocks now......looks great!
