it would seem I have one larger than most :massey:, I'm looking for a bike helmet, Mountain bike, Road Bike, I don't care, no fucks given if it makes me look like a clown on the bike path.

I've just received an " X-Large" helmet and it ain't big enough, ( Ascent Strada Road Helmet, XL )

Anyone know of another possibly XXL helmet ? I've had a 3X motorcycle helmet in the past:bling:, that wasn't easy to find either.

I can't very well make my daughter wear a bike helmet if I don't as well.

Whatcha got ?
 
Damn! What size hat do you wear? I thought my dome piece was a big'un at 8 & 7/8s!
 
At Home Depot, those orange buckets are only $5.
 
i wear a triple 8 helmet for riding mtb, i usually wear an xl but can wear a large in them. Might be worth looking at and maybe itl help you out, or im sure they have them in xxl

You mean a 7-7/8 right?

Ive never seen anything bigger than an 8. I wear a 7-7/8 and those are hard as hell to find.

To put it in perspective when Barry Bonds was swallowing HGH like m&ms....his head balloned to an 8 1/4. Andre the Giant reputedly wore an 8 1/4....an 8 7/8 your head would measure over 27" in circumference :eek:


To answer voodoo..

I am not a fan of HJC helmets but their 2X is comfy for me and their 3x wobbles around.

Ascent Strada XL 22.5-24.5" Road Helmet is what I have, new in the box, if I can find one that fits without modification, I'd rather do that.

"Spooning" a helmet lessens it's impact absorption as your doing the exact thing it needs to do, compress and distribute the blow across the shell.

I've done it in the past on a motorcycle helmet, very minor tweaking needed on an Arai Signet 3XL ( difficult size to find and not cheap in 1993 )

I'll check out a few of the suggestions see what I can come up with, also found UVEX Oversize Helmet, 61-65cm ( 24"-25.25" ) just need to find a dealer in the US that stocks and sells them.

I just measured my head, mostly because its the biggest of anyone I have ever met, and it measures at 25.75", might only be 25.5" if you cut all my hair off. I spose that puts me at an 8 1/4 size to be comfy. All that in a 5' 11", 295lb frame with no chemical enhancements, or gigantism. Unless you ask everyone I know and they will tell you I have a special kind of head only gigantism.

I hate it, I have hard enough time finding clothes that fit, let alone hats, most hats I get from work vendors are too small to wear unless I have my hair cut really short, and then they look like a yamaka with a bill. finding t-shirts with a logo of any sort is damn near impossible.
 
Carhartt t-shirts or Red Cap, 2 pocket, button up, work shirts...kinda like Dickie's work shirts, but better made. That's all I ever wear.


Also, just measured the circumference of my gourd. It's 25.5" and my hair is very short. Second closest guard to being bald as I can go, I hate my hair even being long enough to stand weird when I sleep on it.
 
Hey Kevin... I know where there is an old water tank with a round end. You might drop it over your "melon" and stuff some foam in around the edges. :DSorry, ole buddy... the door was wide open... the devil made me do it!!!! :lol:

had the same though with an old air compressor tank I have, but the weight makes it a no go, Thanks Don, I knew I could count on you for a old world thinkin' !

I never considered that my head might be bigger than normal until I recently bought a new bicycle helmet from Walmart. It was adjustable/one-size-fits-all. It was a tight squeeze on the loosest setting but my head has gradually morphed the styrofoam after a few rides. Fits like a glove now. :)
