Got this in an email from a friend down that way today...
Date: April 1, 2009
THEY GROW 'EM BIG IN MOREHEAD CITY
97 lb rattlesnake found in just SOUTHEAST of
Morehead City on Radio Island before Beaufort.
9 feet, 1 inch - 97 lbs. - Biggest rattler found
since Bob Eaereds captured one in
1969 that measured 9 feet, 1 inch but only weighed
78 lbs.
This old guy was found inside an open water drum
near an abandoned boat hull laying on the shore.
You can see the jet fuel tanks in the background.

That was posted on april fools day.

yeah, just a few weeks ago, that same snake (and his handler) were here in Edenton. I think they traveled here from Texas.

So here is the problem.
If you Google 97 lb rattlesnake, you'll find that this was found outside Wilmington.... and Texas... and Missouri... and idaho... nobody can confirm it's real origin.
Which makes me skeptical.

"Look below at the picture. I thought you might need to see what's out there when you are walking around this summer. This happened Monday in Chowan County on Colony Drive , about a 1/2 mile from route 94. Please be careful!"

-from the email I got 2 months ago.

Shit, the little guy holding the snake doesn't weigh much more than that. That's your giveaway -- a 100# snake would have the same body mass as a large dog. It would have to be 20 feet long.

Fawk the 92" one. This guy has your car keys.

The pic is real just found out this craps being going around since 2005 just different tonws every time.

Soooo... how do you even know the pic is real, then?

My uncle killed a 54" one on one of the pond dams in Aiken a few summers ago. About the biggest I have seen was close to 60" long and in florida. All bigger then I ever want to get around.

If you ever see a Diamondback in NC, do not kill it and post your pic on the net. They are protected. You might find yourself in deep turd.

Well I done ran into two already over at the Stables this summer and lets say we didn't get along very well :shaking:

And of course there's the ones we keep over here at Galloway's out back, best part is Lester put a black snake in the cage with the Rattlers and it disappeared a day or two after . . . .

I really hope rattle snakes eat other snakes

I can not tell you that THIS is the snake found, but I was just this afternoon told by a Wildlife Agent in Havelock about them finding a 100 lb. rattler in Morehead City last year. I thought I would google it and came across this picture. He told me that it was down in some type of hole near Radio Island. So it is very possible this IS true.

:fuck-you:haha
