What smokin' deals have you found?

I don't have any to share yet :D but I'd really like to get a cordless impact wrench....

Dunno. I think our Black Friday shopping will be minimal this year as most stores are opening on Thurs. We won't be doing that just on principle. I hope the masses follow suit but I doubt it. I feel sorry for those who have to work that entire night and have a crappy Thanksgiving day because of it.

The best deal is to stay home and away from crazy shoppers.

Just so we're clear - 98% of my BF shopping is online.
The remainder is either at Lowes or Home Depot, after 10 or 11 or so.

Oh yes. We are specifically not shopping anywhere on Thurs evening. Only Thurs purchases for us are last-minute necessities for food etc.
I really, really hate the whole early retail sales BS.

I'm also on the boycott Thursday for the principle of it wagon though the tech geek in me is tempted to order the Nook for $79. A few minutes to root it and load a better version of Android and you get a damn nice tablet for very little money.

I will not be doing any shopping today or tomorrow. I hate crowds.

I used to work at Best Buy and have to work Black Friday. I appreciate the sentiment of those boycotting, but to be honest it's not going to make a difference, and in fact it might hurt the cause. Here's the thing:

The people who don't care will still go shopping whenever the doors are open. By boycotting, you are just allowing more space at the stores for those who don't care to get better and better deals. The corporations will see that as a success because more people were able to buy more stuff (larger average ticket size) and say, "Gee... we need to open EVEN earlier next year!"

Only at the point when corporations put people in front of profits will anything change. Good luck with that.

I wasn't going out this yr. gfriend asked if I would meet her when she was leaving belks at the new shopping center here. I noticed Dicks sporting was open. picked a stainless ruger 10/22 takedown for 269. decided to look online for the deals. rode dn to bestbuy n hky to look at tvs and picked up a new dell laptop for 177.

My black friday shopping is usually after the holidays...family/friends managing retail stores always allows me the pick of the litter for the returned/floor items at about 20% the sticker price.

This was the first Thanksgiving/Black Friday shopping I've ever done...

I ended up going out on Thursday evening to Wal Mart for the 6pm guarantee in stock 32" flat screen for $98.

I never would have gone if it wasn't a guarantee and they issue "rain checks" if they are out. Drove out there with my uncle-in-law who is a detective up in VA (ya never know what crazies will be out!), found a parking spot up front, found the TVs on aisle 3 (frozen foods  ), walked up and grabbed 2 rain checks (the line was at least 1,000 people long!!), paid for them in the "express" lane and was back on my way back to the in law's house in 15 minutes. Logged on to walmart.com, arranged shipping to my walmart in Greenville, and will pick them up in 2 weeks in my home town.

Best experience I've had at a Wal Mart in a loooooong time.

The wife and I went out on Friday (left the house around 11am) a little for the kids, but the stops were places like Hobby Lobby and Home Goods, neither of which had any of the crazies out there. The stores seemed to be normally busy when we were there. Oh, I did stop at Old Navy briefly on Friday afternoon (50% off everything) looking for coats for the kids. We found 2 but the line was way too long so we just left. Later I heard family say that they were at Old Navy around 7pm and there was no line. They were open until 11pm, so I headed up there around 9:30 and got the kids pea coats and some new jeans for me. No line and 50% off. Made a stop at Target (right next door) and picked up a blue ray/dvd player combo set up for Netflix for like $40. Once again, no line and I was in and out very quick.

BTW, this was up in Fredricksburg, VA, very populated!

I was surprised at the ease of shopping I had. However, I didn't visit the crazy places like the mall or Best Buy, etc. and didn't try to fight the lines in Wal Mart. I didn't set myself up for failure because I didn't expect the 55" TV at Target for $230 to be there like thousands did (word from the inside is they had only like 8 at that price  )

My wife and and the girls in the family go out Friday morning every year, they get up at like 5. It's really more for the girl-time than anything, heck I think her sister is the only one who actually wants to buy anything (yes she was one of the idiots who thought she could actually get the $230 55" TV).
Anyway they said this year there were virtually no crowd Thurs morning, almost just like a normal Saturday. Guess all the real craziness in Thurs night now. Which is just ridiculous.

Errr, how bout the 1100 ft lbs of loosening torque? How strong is a 22r in reverse? :D
The Milwaukee® M18 FUEL™ 1/2in. High Torque Impact Wrench with Friction Ring features the most powerful cordless wrench in its class, delivering up to 700 ft.-lbs. of maximum fastening torque, 1,100 ft.-lbs. of nut-busting torque
I could really use one of those!
