anyone here went this route before. i ordered it for my 8.1/allison and i just finished the data logging and emailed the info to BBP. so i am waitng for the tuning info to come back now.
i am looking to get everything i can out of this motor/trans combo, but is there anything i should stay away from?

thanks, ben

I sorta do the same kind of email tuning with HP Tuners. I'll data log my truck and email a log file back to my tuner in Vegas. From what he has chosen for his configuration information, he reads it and turns all the data in to my updated tune files. I've done about 8 of them and he keeps tweaking very minor things, but they make a big difference. With a stock truck, it's not so hard, but the more motor mods you've done, the tougher it gets.

Can't think of anything to stay away from...they'll mostly adjust some trans shift points, add/pull timing here and there, and check out the VE tables. The stock tunes leave something to be desired.

just wanted to update this.

installed the 91+ octane tune with the trans mod this morning and i can say that it really opened up this motor.
it feels more like a hotrod now than it does a truck.
got me wanting to a cam swap now.

The cam I had ground is amazing. Peak torque from 3650-4800!

It's a custom ground Bret Bauer cam. He gets them from Comp.
