hey whats up someone told me on my blazer if i flip the air filter cover up side down it will give it more power and make it sound better now is that ture ?

If you flip the air cover up it will help it suck more air in sort of like a cold air intake. I use to do it on my old s-10. I am not sure how much power increase you will really see or if it will make it "sound better".

It will give it a more throaty intake sound, like an open element air cleaner. As far as a real power gain, I highly doubt it. If you don't have a body lift it will also press the air cleaner lid into the underside of the hood.

It will do a wonderful job of letting more crap into your air intake.

Seriously ripping the whole intake and filter off may net you like .6hp...is it really worth dusting an engine over?

For that matter oil does scavenge quite a bit of power, just drain all your oil.
Same for you fan take it off, it is robbing power left and right, cvome to think of it so is that damn water pump and alternator.

Turn your air filter cover upside down, cut your belts to the alt and water pump and take off the fan and drain all that oil...you are guaranteed to make 10 extra hp
