Blood and Guts

The dog found a nest of brand new baby rabbits early one spring several years ago. They didn't even have hair on them yet and each one fit in the palm of my hand. He'd dug around to find them and... it didn't go well. He whined like, "Mama, what'd I do?"

They were in the liriope, not very well hidden, so we guessed a first litter for a new mama rabbit. We all felt less awful about the whole thing once we realized she'd have another litter in 30 days or so.

I was in a fire truck following my dad in another fire truck one time when a flock of guineas ran out infront of him. He took out at least 5. It looked like 100 feather pillows exploded

Dear chief, nobody was as surprised as me when..........

Ive hit my fair share of critters cutting hay and bush hogging. Worst was a call on I77 where one car hit a deer that went over the roof and landed in front of a van. That was an awful mess and stunk something terrible.

One of our drivers hit a horse in the fog once. If he had been driving any faster it would have likely killed him. Absolutely destroyed the truck though.

Two brothers I'm friends with both hit a cow one night. The guy in front was driving a scsb early 90s Z71, jacked up on maybe 35s, brother behind him was driving a 5.0 foxbody ragtop. The truck hit the cow and bounced over it. Dude in fox body said all he saw was the z71 tail lights go down like the truck was hitting a ramp then they went way up and put popped a cow! He slammed on the brakes but hit the cow anyway. Took the cow to the hood and it bounced right over the passenger compartment and landed on the trunk.
