wondering if anybody has used the blue devel head gasket repair. says its warranted to work?

Depends on if it's a head gasket, a warped or cracked head, or a cracked or corroded block. The only way to know for sure is to pull the head, which in turn needs a head gasket. Best bet is to just bite the bullet and pull the head.
