With Hay season approaching, means more hours on the tractor and i just don't like listening to the deafening exhaust for hours on end as much as i used to.

Anybody have any experience with the newer bluetooth headphones?

I liked my old isotunes till the lawn mower ran them over. Been looking at these for in the shop and out side work

I have a pair of BT headphones... keeping them charged is a pain.

I have been through a few pair of Polk and Blon in-ears and prefer them. I can get a good seal with those. I switch to the BT ones while the phone is charging.

I have a set of the cordless ear buds. They work good but I have a hard time keeping them in if I’m working.Just sitting around or light activity their fine fine.I also have a set of blue tooth ear buds but they have a wire between the two ear pieces. They are easier to keep up w when working since the cord will catch it if it falls out.

How long does a typical charge last?
I don't use mine as much as @Chris_Keziah so he could probably answer this better than myself. That said, I use mine at least weekly this time of year when I'm mowing my yard. Takes me about 1.5hrs to mow and everything, and I honestly can't tell you the last time I've charged mine.

Thats why i was kind of leaning toward the ones with a cord. I could definitely see myself losing one and never finding it.

I spent way too much time researching and bought way too many of these until I settled on one I really like.

Ive got a pair of blue tooth in ear buds made by Anker. They are the sound core Life P2. (There is a new P3 version - they suck for my intended usage)

I can get 2-3 days of constant music on a charge. But what I typically use them for is work conference calls. They support parallel path connections, so they can simutlaneously be paired with my laptop and my cell phone so I can answer calls from either with a touch of the button.

These support either ear solo. The airpods I had previously didnt. (I cant remeber which but only one ear could work solo.) with these I wear 1 ear 90% of the time, if that one needs to be recharged I can throw the other one in for the 30 minutes it takes to charge.
For call work, I usually charge every couple weeks. Average 2-3 hours per day of talk time.

Each bud has 2 mics, 1 for noise cancel and one for voice. I can ride on the tractor, open cab, or four wheeler and have a conversation and you can hear me. Unless wind is blowing into the mic (speed) it will kill background noise.
They arent active noise cancel, so if you need/want that they arent the answer.

A few relevant questions
1 - is this for hearing protection purposes? Earbuds that actually work to block noise at a reliable dB are not cheap and likely need to be fine tuned to fit your ears. Some people are lucky and theuir canals are an ideal shape, but thats not the norm. Otherwise you'll get something that works, but is not comfortable for hours. The point is, be prepared to hunt a little for something that is not inexpensive.
2 - Are muff style phones just too hot? They'll get better dB attenuation ANd better sound quality AND easier to find a comfy fit. But, heat and bulk.
3 - If you care about music sound quality, BT still rarely rivals a good old corded analog signal.

I have been very pleased with my Skull Candy Ink’d+ Bluetooth earbuds. They have the thing that goes on the back of your neck, so even if a bud falls out, you don’t lose it. Good sound. If I’m mowing, I put those in to listen to tunes and put ear muffs over top for hearing protection.

How far can you walk away from the laptop? My cheap work issued headset drives me nuts. If I step more than a few feet away people say my mic gives out. A few more feet and I lose the connection.

that is going to depend largely on your laptop.

I can, for example, leave my second floor home office and walk downstairs and out in the yard and never lose conenction to my iphone sitting on my desk.
The laptop drops about halfway down the stairs if its in its usual docking place. If I set it on top of the credenza I can get all the way downstairs and to the kitchen (crucial for a fatboy on a marathon conference call.)

I use the ISO Tunes extra's almost on a daily basis while I'm running my stump grinder. They will usually last me all day if they are fully charged. They block out noise really well also. Only thing I don't like about them is sometimes the bluetooth connection is kinda in and out if I turn my head a certain way. But before I got these I used the skull candy ones and they were also very good. I got caught in the rain wearing those and they battery in them swelled up and that was the end of those.

I had the same problem with the extra I had. Was frustrating but I liked them otherwise.

do you have a link? these sound like what i need for in the office.

I have a pair of Sony MDR-XB950BT over the ear headphones that I love. I use them mowing the lawn and generally doing half of anything outside. Not sure how long they run but I certainly do not charge them very often. I think they are comfortable and block out a lot of external noise. I actually just bought new ear foams for them as the old ones were starting to flake apart.

I don’t like the separate ear buds for the reason of loosing them easily and having to dig them out of my pocket when I want to use them. I have used the LG Tones headset / ear buds for 7-8 years and they are great. I’ve had a few different types mainly due to loosing a couple riding street bikes and forgetting they were around my neck though. The battery life is really good and lasts probably 10-12 hours listening to music and I normally get a few days between charging when using for calls at work all day.

Last question (maybe) - are you using Jabber or Teams or Skype? Wondering about compatibility but wouldn't think it's an issue.

Use teams and Zoom.
The buds our to the laptop. When launching the meeting where you select audio it’ll either be the default (zoom)or in the drop down (teams)
