October 1st, Title & registration fees, go WAY up! Just received email from NC Wildlife,last night.
Called them today, to be sure the registration fees, & renewal fees, are one & the same. YES
I was told Wildlife, did not do this, it was part of the new NC Budget, & was just passed,taking all by surprise! New Law, requires Wildlife to transfer 50% of the fees, to a NEW, Shallow Draft Navigation Channel & Lake Dredging Fund!
I ask if I could go & buy a three year sticker, and was told I could only renew within 2 months of anniversary date. I had bought a 1 year sticker,in July. Officer suggested that most boaters, will buy 1 year, from now on, unless fees are reversed.
Example= current 1 year $15, will go to $30, & that's for under 26'
3 yr $ 40, will go to $90
Hope your not over 26', & you have a current 3 year sticker!
