bobbed 2.5ton m35

Yea they do ride surprisingly well! especially with the suspension seat. The m109 shop van box trucks also ride nicer because their almost 4k lb heavier.

I'll join in, here's mine. Been fixing the little things on it, they are slow though. Need the bigger tires to run in the 60's.

The new m105 bed is on. The trailor springs are waiting to go on the new axle. frame has been bobbed and most of the rust has been fixed... things left to do... move fuel tank up in new bed, take apart tandom axles, put new suspension on...
The trailor apart

it looks funny for sure... Once the axles is centered and the tires get here it will look good

maybe two... i think it would be better to use the frame and make mor of a flat bed, maybe... we pick ours up with on little rust spot for 250.00 by a private seller. i think prices are between 200.00 and 450.00...

I'd like to find one to use as a bed as well......I'll keep my eyes open.

Truck is looking great!!

Are you going to keep the dual axles in the rear?

no, it will be a 4x4

James how can you get more power out of them??? Bigger exhaust? maybe a intercooler? Messing with the injection? Any ideas anyone???

Is yours a straight diesel or multifuel? I've read somewhere about messing with the densiometer on multifuels.
but,
It is what it is, cutting weight to a 4x4 like the one in this thread would proabably help a bunch.
They are like 13,000 + lbs without the winch, a shop/cube back would add alot of weight.

ohv kj (james?) I think it looks like it's out or "Road Warrior" with the chopped bed and duals! Do a google image search on "gun trucks", they was some wild 2.5 and 5 tons in Vietnam, plus you'll see a phillipino version somewhere with angled sides, I'll try to find the links.

Yeah, ours weighs in at 16,200 with the Radio Box on the back. I know its a lead weight back there but I was really hoping to leave in on there. Its a multifuel.

Im not high jacking your thread James

ok axle is in. need to make a traction bar because the axle wraps a little. need to run the brake/air lines, relocate tank, fix alittle more rust, get the new 46" tires on and paint again... still alot of other little things to do as well
rear springs, got some cutom u bolts made from Fleet Pride, also needed to instal a 4" block to level out the truck

There is a way to crank up the injection pump a little but when you do that you have to watch exhaust gas temps so you dont burn up the turbo (i'm assuming yours is turbo?) Also another way to make it feel fast is drive a non turbo for a little while. When you get back in yours it will feel like a race car! My brother had a 109 box like yours, but non turbo and it would drop to 35 going up hills even if you hit the hill at 55. But my dad's new one with turbo can accelerate up hills even.

Lookin good james can't wait to see the new tires under it!

I had a bobbed deuce that ran like a top. It had a flat bed on it and was pretty quick for what it was, definately a lot faster than a 6x6. That's one of the few trucks I wish I had kept. Looking good.
