Body guys, how hard is this to repair?

Picked up these two Jeeps the other day. Was going to part them out, but they are too nice for that if I can fix them. Both are 04 WJs, one is a V8/2wd and the other is a 4.0L/4x4, both Limiteds.

I have all the body parts here to fix them, but both of them have some damage to the bumper support part of the body. Not sure if a frame shop can repair this by pulling it out or if a new section needs to be welded in. What do you guys think?

This one is pushed back an inch or so. No unibody damage, just the part right there with the barcode on it.

This one is crunched up a little more, but again no unibody damage just that area right there around the headlight hole.

I know I could just throw them on the trailer and run them down to a body shop and have them quote me, but figure maybe someone can give me some opinion before I do that since I won't have the time for that for a little while.

I'll preface this by saying that I am not a body guy.

Do you remember the front corner WJ section that I bought from you? This is basically what I was fixing. Here is what I had to do.

  • Remove bumper, headlights, header panel, air box, washer bottle, and swaybar
  • rotabroach approximately 25 spot weld
  • pull the bumper support back forward
  • cut the fender skirt out completely
  • pull the inner fender outward
  • Section in the fender skirt you sold me
  • prep and re-weld everything after verifying dimensions
  • paint and reassemble
The process probably took me about 8 hours, and the damage was slightly less than yours i believe. Multiply that by your neighborhood labor rate and you have an estimate.

First thing that went through my mind when I got these in was that piece you bought from me and if this is what you were repairing. I kind of figured that was what would need to be done, at least on the lighter colored one.

Doesn't sound too bad. I might run them by a couple body shops up close to the new shop once I get moved in, get a quote and see what they say.

@Blaze email Shannon if you haven't already. He quoted turn-key repairs for me based on photos.
