body lift installation

I'm getting a 3" body lift on my 97 wrangler and I don't have the space or anything needed to install it and on top of that I'd mess up somewhere in the process. So does anyone know of any places in Raleigh that can install it for a fairly cheap price???
Thanks

3" BL = Bad Idea.

Stability issues. Raises Center of Gravity. I had one on my CJ why I bought it. After I removed it, I felt much more stable driving it.

well I recently bought the jeep and it has 3" susp lift and 32" tires and it has serious tire rub and the guy told me to switch to 33x12.5x15 and he said a body lift would help or spacers and I'd rather have a BL then the spacers. How unstable are we talking I had an xj with 4.5" susp lift and 1" BL and it was fine?

what kind of spacers? are they coil spacers or wheel spacers? where are the tires rubbing? answer some questions and we can help guide u in the right direction that will set u up for success and not a trashed body. do u plan on wheelin this thing or is it just a street driven jeep? there is a big difference between a 1 and 3" body lift. it puts everything up a lot higher raising the center of gravity of the vehicle a lot more, and puts more stresses on body mounting hardware. you will have to check them all the time to be sure there not coming loose. its just a real pain in the butt with no benefits.

if the tires are rubbing the body with 3" lift then its probably the rims that are the problem. 3" body lifts put way too much leverage on the bolts and its not that uncommon to see them bend in a minor accident. Hopefully I don't need to mention that they look horrible. You can clear 32s with a 1" body lift, no suspention lift, and rims with the right back spacing.

yeah I just got 12.5 steel rims before I had 11.5 I already have a 3" suspension I want the jeep raised more so I was going to go with the 2" Body Lift but I now assume its a bad idea

huh?
And Huh?
oh, and I guarantee you didn't have an XJ with a 1" body lift, since there is no body to lift above the frame.
I also have a feeling you might not have the lift on there you think you have?
Where in Raleigh are you? I could meet up somewhere, cause if you have a 3" susp lift, the only way 32s would be rubbing would be if the rims had factory backspacing (or less/more whatever to move the tires in more) and then they'd rub when you turn the steering all the way.

I would stay away from a 3" BL at all cost.

I think some wheels with more backspacing would be your best bet. I was able to run 31s without any lift on a YJ just with some wheels with backspacing.

Yeah it's a 3" diamond Suspension lift and they do rub only when i turn the steering all the way... I don't know anything about factory backspacing

The body lift won't help with them rubbing from steering at all.
They are rubbing on the control arms (probably)
The way to fix that would either be, new rims, (I recomend 15x8 with 3.5" of backspacing or so) or adjusting the steering so you can't turn it quite as far.
Shoot me a PM if you want to meet up somewhere, I can show you what I'm talking about.
Also as was stated, anything above about a 1.25" BL is asking for trouble, (with all sorts of weird adjustments creeping in like fan shrouds, radiators, shifter linkages, etc)

You just need to adjust your steering stops, nothing else is going to fix that. And you shouldn't need more lift for 32s, I run 34s with 1" body lift and 1.75" spacers and its too much lift.

I'd prefer to inspect the jeep in person before offering to much in the way of advice. though i will say if it's rubbing when you turn, a BL won't fix that.

any ways, you asked about a 4x4 shop in Raleigh to work on your jeep. i'm the sales manager at Global Off-Road & Diesel. give me a call if you need something. i'd be more than happy to help you out.
