I was looking over a new truck I bought at auction before I started driving it and realized that one of the bolts is missing from the rear u-joint saddle. Rather than being smart and bringing one of the other bolts with me today, I left them sitting in the Yukon.

I'm not at the shop today, but wanted to go grab a bolt. Anyone know what size they are off the top of your head?

5/16 fine thread, about 1" long, going from memory

Not metric? Really? I've never had mine loose, but everything else on my Denali seems to be metric.

@Blaze, I really have no clue what it it, but I assumed it would be a M6 or M8 bolt. If it were me, I'd grab a 5/16 fine, maybe a 1/4 fine, and an M6 and M8 about an inch long and pray for the best.

I know for a fact it is 5/16, odd i know, just don't remember if it is 18 tpi or 24 tpi or the length, same bolt gm has used for many years. Same as a stock strap style 14 bolt

I guess that makes sense. No matter how hard they try to convert to Metric, there's always a hang around somewhere to get your socket stack all screwed up.

I was surprised too when I swapped an AAM 11.5 under my 1500. Had to get bolts for it and they are, in fact, 5/16-24. I just needed slightly longer ones for the 11.5 or I would have used the ones from the 10 bolt.

The head of the bolt is 7/16, so an 11mm fits it fine :D
