Looking for a place to headquarter a private gathering near Boone. Expecting approximately 200 people & 25-50 jeeps.

We'd like to find some private land (large MOWED field, pasture, or lot) to rent for June 18-22 (Wed.-Sunday). Preferably, large enough for an "easy-up" village, parking (both towrigs/trailers & vehicles), some area for tent/RV campers (some will hit the hotels) and we'll rent a Porta-John (or 2) locally for the weekend. Water onsite is a plus, but not absolutely necessary.

We'd go public, but due to potential for ground damage (mud due to rain & locked rig traffic. We will be going elsewhere to wheel), noise (from rigs) and our desire for adult beverages while sitting around a campfire at night, private fits better.

The majority of the attendees are well over 30 y/o and responsible adults. We'll haul out ALL trash and leave it better than when we arrive, so no worries of cutting fences, opening gates, livestock being harassed, or it getting trashed & left like some freshman frat party...

So, if you know of such a place or know someone that does, feel free to PM or email me directly.

I'm mostly curious what kind of event would involve an average 4-8 people PER JEEP...?

- Not ALL attendees will bring their Jeeps...
- Several are full on "concours" restos (do NOT touch dirt/gravel roads)

- Like every other vehicle niche, many are currently on jackstands/not running
- Some will opt to drive something else with AC/more comfort

OTOH, there will be folks from all over the eastern 1/2 of the US (& Canada) driving/towing their rigs in for this.

Give a call to Aaron at HCORE 4X4. I talked to him for ya. He said to call and maybe work something out. 1-828-268=0009.

Excuse my ignorance but who makes concours? i have never even seen one of those before. I do like that white D90 across from it in the pic tho, those are my fav!

Aaron helped with one of these gatherings a few years back.
I think he would want to help again... we weren't too hard on him, from what I remember:beer:.
This is a family event. So we keep it reigned in...
...a little.

I spoke with him about this, and yeah, he wants to help again.
Also..I was at that event a few years back, caverdave and I tried to go through the 4ft deep mud ditch at Chris' land. I was the dummy in the blk tj...I went first and dave fallowed, even after seeing the mess I was in. So maybe he was a bigger dummy than me!:flipoff2:

I had forgotten about that. By that time, mine was already sitting in the field with a busted radiator, broken front ring and pinion, 2 broken motor mounts, and a broken front driveshaft.
I was into the  by then, cause I wasn't driving anywhere...

I remember thinking my tj seemed a bit outa place amongst all those jeepsters, so I parked off by itself. Then the bottom fell out of the sky(remember that?) While running to button up the jeep I actually lost a shoe in the mud. Thats what I was driving in after..At least thats my story anyway! It was all fun anyway.

If it's ok, I would like to attend again this time.

Dave,

There is a campground across the road from the Mast General Store Annex in Valle Crucis. In years past the Carolina Jeepsters have used that for their High Country Runs and the owner is a great guy. Plenty of room for all and he will let you run the creek and his private trails if he likes ya. Hell, he has even been known to drag out a car or two for everyone to crush at the campground. Check him out. He is more than accomodating and when I wheel overnight at Callalantee he is who I prefer to camp with.
