Bought a stolen S10 Blazer

I have a friend with a daughter that is locked in mental intuition, for the rest of her life. He had picked up her car at the time of her arrest. It's a piece of shit, that still has about $500 owed on it. It's been sitting four years now. He called the loan co. to try to get the title. They wont release it without payoff. He doesn't have the money & it's not worth more than Scrap price. He told them four years back, his daughters situation, and told them to come get the POS. They wont come get it! He's afraid to try scraping it. What do you Do?

I think here in Ky. the lien is only good for 6 or7 years. That is what the person at the county clerk's office said. Take it to the junkyard and see if they take it or sell it to uncle willie he will buy stolen junk.. lol.
But if it comes back stolen I will get you some shiny new jewelry.

There are 2 people currently in jail, one on bail awaiting trial, and one who fled the state to South Dakota ( although he has 5 other charges for theft by conversion) for selling me things that weren't theirs.

I have had to deal with stolen cars to in the past and have been charged in the past for stolen cars not fun to get cleared up. I have several recovered stolen auto's and motorcycles here now i have towed in for the police and just waiting on getting parted out or crushed Wich ever comes first. The owner's rarely will pick up the cars because they don't want to pay the recovery fees.

Tow it to the nearest branch of the loan company

Or just set it on fire on the side of the road.

I make sure all my paper work is in order, and I have pictures of thier state issued ID and them with the vehicle. I have never had an issue other than the PITA of having to file reports.

Back when I had my shop I had a ZJ body that I stripped down and was hauling for scrap. Just completely bare shell. My normal Saturday morning scrapyard was closed that day so I had to go to a different one I wasn't familiar with. I didn't have the title (I did at one point, but it sat in the yard for a while and it got lost) so when I got there they gave me all kinds of crap about not having the title and needing to run the VIN, etc and I'd have to sit and wait and all this bullshit. I went back to the shop, cut it into about 6 pieces and went back and threw it piece by piece into the shred pile. Boom, take that.

State law is anything 10 years old or newer needs a title. Either they had some word company policy, or they wanted to sell it with the title.

The owner of that yard is an asshole, I think he was just being a dick. He also ran a parts business so he might have just been giving me a hard time because I was another local parts business.
