got the jeep torn down to the bare frame and am going to paint and box where/if its needed. So where are the best spots to box in a frame and what is the best material to use? I feel like I have read people using 12ga stock. Also should I pre-paint the inside side of the frame and steel? Trying to use as much rust prevention as possible.
Thanks

Clean it weld it then fill with the expandable foam, if your gonna run brake lines or wireing through it put some pvc pipe in there before you fill with foam but after welding.

Expandable foam holds water better than a sponge. Found out after damage was already done.

places like eastwood sell a kit for rustproofing inside body cavities, should work just as well inside a frame rail, and then there is always weldable primer you can paint on before you weld it up.

Foam is a horrible idea! Weld through primer works very well. Making templates and good welds are key. If it is down to a bare frame be very careful welding. It is very easy to warp. email me if you have more questions chrism281@gmail.com
