Morning everyone so yesterday I replaced the master cylinder and booster on my 91 xj after bleeding everything starting at the passenger rear and going around the jeep multiple times still have no pedal and I have found no leeks in the lines anywhere any suggestions thx

Did you bench bleed the master before putting it in the vehicle?

Seems to be a common-ish issue with those. Idk keep bleeding. Maybe get one of the pressure bleeders from Harbor Freight.

I read something where a guy said he was getting solid fluid through the bleeders, but started getting air with a pressure bleeder. Seems odd, but he said it was back to normal afterwards.

Ok so I re bled the breaks again this morning no air but the pedal is ferm but it’s down closer to the floor before it starts engaging

So you’ve moved the air bubble through the system but it’s still there

Are the rear drum brakes adjusted up tight? That can cause the pedal to be down towards the floor as well.
‘91 xj should be drums unless it has been swapped and you’re correct in your statement but if the little auto adjusters are working and he just did an R&R on the booster/master it “shouldn’t” be an issue. I’m leaning towards air trapped.

Have you tried gravity bleeding just cracking all the bleeders and keep the master full? Sometimes “normal” bleeding will let the bubble “float” inside the system with the fluid going back and forth as opposed to Leto g the fluid just flow out to the corners.. not a 100% but I have had it work pretty well before.

Oh no! Not drum brakes! How will he ever survive, we should alert all the bus loads of nuns and orphans to stay off all roads.
