So i dont think I have any rear brakes. I havent bled the lines to find out but I noticed this had popped out of the 9". It plugs into a coupler that feeds two seperate braided lines to the brakes and screws into the axle. What is this for? Could this be the source of my problem? Thanks!

Looks like a T fitting. I've got one exactly like that on my Waggy's 44... The hardlines connect to the rubber flex hose there. On my axle it screws in, but it's just to hold it in place... not for any functional purpose.

If it's leaking or not hooked up.... No. you can't haz brakes.

Yeah so far it is just hand tightened in there and it isnt all the way. I couldnt find what the hose led to. I only had 30 mins on my lunch break to look at it. So if I screw the hose into the axle through this T fitting, bleed the brakes and add new fluid I should have brakes again right? I didnt see any leaking coming from this hose, but you say it isnt functional?

It screws in to the axle not for function, just for holding it in place there. But that rubber hose and T fitting is crucial for feeding the rear brakes.

The other side of the hose should go to a bracket (somewhere probably on the frame or a crossmember) and connect to another hard line that runs to the front of the vehicle.

I got some pics of my setup from the disc install i just did... i'll post them later.

Looks like the axle breather hose. The bolt that goes through the T block is hollow. :edit: Has nothing to do with your brakes, does have something to do with water getting into your housing.

Thats what I thought it was as well, but the brakes seemed to stop working at the same time that hose disconnected

Can't help you there. But, if you try and bleed the brakes...and fluid actually comes out of the wheel cylinders, then you know the brake hose hasn't completely pulled apart.

Yea i guess if its not raining tomorrow morning I will tackle this and get to bleeding the brakes. I hate working on my truck in a gravel driveway but it has to be done!

if its not gushing fluid it doesn't make a ton of sense that the breaks in the back would just give out. have you jacked up the rear end and made sure your breaks are gone?

It came off the axle because the line from the body to axle is not long enough. Look at the hard line near the body it may be kinked.
