check out the new wheels and tires on my jeep. I had to trim a little of the sheetmetal to make them fit but it was worth it.

my new tires and wheels will be in next week. Chrome dipped 17s with 42" Iroks and Stauns. Major bling factor. I am sure i'll get a lot of shit for going this way, so to all the nay-sayers: bench build yer own junk.

No more boggers for me.....ever! Even with major trail rash I think the chrome will still look killer.

Looking forward to hooking up the bling with a set of Stauns........(insert mad scientist laugh)......

Definately stop by Josh, I wanna see tha Taco.

Here is a pic of the new wheels, it will have to do until next week. I cant wait.

who can work the photo-chop?

I was going to go with something similar on mine w/ stauns or add-on alum. locks. But I ran across a set of used Trailreadys for about half of what that setup would've cost me. Anyways, thats going to be a sweet looking setup. Props for being different.

That'll be peachy when the cast wheels crack and leak all your air.. but at least you won't lose a bead.. :flipoff2:

Rich "the eternal pessimist" Q.

that was my initial concern, but my Traiready's were converted eagle 589 cast wheels and they held up just fine. most people are running cast wheels on their junk anyway. forged wheels cost too much and I got a great deal on a nicer wheel cheap. I was assured that these were just as strong.

At least now I have dbl. beadlocks, no bolts to tighten, less weight, and two vulnerable valvestems.

and i still have my trailreadys if they dont work so well, somebody had to try it. I promise to flog the crap outta my junk when necessary and i will find their breaking point if there is one.:driver:

now all you need is about 8 tvs and 20 amps and speakers[/QUOTE

They are still cheaper than my trailready's were.

Oh and John, that 1967 Patrol I traded Jordan for my boggers did not have a ford 351 in it. The AMC casting in the edelbrock aluminum intake clearly states that this is a AMC 401, it also has a t400 and a d300.:smokin:

Cool Deal. I didnt look at it that closely and it was dark. He thought it was a 350SBC, I saw the front mount distributor and just assumed it was a ford and it was way to small for a 5.0. Good find for you. But that engine is supposedly just been rebuilt.

Greg, get you a small Argon bottle and some aluminum wire to go with that Ready Welder you just bought!

no good deal for me either, i sold it sight unseen to my buddy who loves those things. he picked it up. I saw after he got it home. I already tried to buy back the drivetrain.

Cast wheels will bust. I've broken two of my TR's and had them repaired. They can be fixed and it isn't very expensive, it just sux when they do. I like the bling wheels, but I'd drop the extra $$$$ on forged ones if you're really gonna beat it.

they sure were pretty in the box...can't wait to see them on the rig...

went to hang them late last night and it proved that sometimes even just putting on new wheels can be a chore.

It would seem that I also managed to bend all the rear studs slightly. It was un-noticeable with the old wheels, but the new ones have a recess that the lugnuts sit in so if everything is not perfect they wont line up. Now i am in search of new studs this morning so i can finish it all up and drive it.

On another note, i am looking for suggestions on spacers. the bigger combo is all in my LCA when i turn and i fear in the front frame when flexed and turned. It looks like all i need is about .5 - .75 inch on both sides. any other options besides 1.5 aluminum bolt on jobs for 250 a set?

64 wms.....17x9.....5on5.5......42x14x17 iroks

you definitely want bolt-on...and you can't go much less than an inch if you still want to get a nut on the studs...

but, you don't have to pay $250/set...

http://www.weirdharoldscoolparts.com/new page0.htm

$51.35/each includes shipping and lugs...1", 1.25", 1.5" and 2"...

http://www.offroadoverstock.com/sto...cartaction=none&startrow=1&var1=&var2=&var3=&

$79/pair, but you gotta buy nuts and pay for shipping...1.25" or 1.5"...

No luck on the studs today though. they are odd sized shanks, (splined part that presses on the axle). gotta call dynarape monday and find out what they used.

I was just logging in to post a link to that same seller...I came across a couple guys I know that wheel pretty hard, and have been running those for quite a while with no complaints...

looks like it'll run me $119/shipped, including lugs, for 1.5" 5x4.5 spacers...not too bad...
