Bristol

Which one? Lol. My neighbor is going.

Leaving this AM coming back Sunday

We cannot leave until Friday, early in the morning. Coming back Sunday. This will be my first night race at Bristol, and only my second time at the track. I think we are staying at the Earhart campground.

You are in for a treat....I went a couple years ago and damn what a place.

Yeah, me and a buddy went last year to the spring race and it rained the whole damn weekend, we still had a blast.

fall night race...good stuff. I've done it as a weekend and also as a day trip. I won't be there this year though. Dunno where your seats are, hopefully in one end so you won't be having to look left and right all the time. The jumbotron has made it a little better, catching replays.
Buy the nationwide ticket for Fri. night, it gets you into cup qualifying Friday late afternoon. We roll into the campground mid-afternoon, setup camp , walk to the track , get the friday ticket, watch cup qualifying , back to camp:beer:, dinner , hike up to the busch race back to camp
Saturady a.m. hurts. Somehow you can get track tours and walk the racing surface, mine was courtesy of Texaco, I'm not sure if the general redneck can walk up and buy a ticket.
On race night, the jet flyby is awesome, I swear the jets dip into the stadium, then point up and hit the afterburners.
EDIT: WTF...only 6 beer pics allowed per post!?

We have tickets to the Nationwide race also, and if we got the same seats where I sat for last year's spring race, we are about 3 rows up in turn 1, right in front of the exit to pit road....
I try to sit within 5 rows of the fence at the few tracks I have been to. The craziest was at Darlington on the old turn 4 when it was Brasington and it was covered. The aluminum canopy made for good shade, but it also echoed like hell.

I went to the day race last year. I was having fun all day long. Great time...untill the last few laps when Harvick crashed Stewart. I was screaming like a school girl. Great track and a good time.

We parked along the rd. about a mile and a half from the track. We were walking along when a lady pulled up in a mimi van and offered rides to the track for 5 bux a head.
She made a quick 30 bux off of us, then turned around and did it all over again.

I thought about doing that too!

At tracks like Daytona and Talledega, There are times when you can hear yourself talk..when the cars are on the other side of the track etc... BUT at Bristol the entire track is covered with cars the entire time, so dont plan on talking alot..lol

I try to aviod it as much as possible. I don't even go to walmart.
You should take a van, or pick up down there and give rides to the track...for $$

There will be at least 50,000 folks walking at least a mile...right down the side of the rd., alot are walking more than a mile. Most are in terrible physical shape and dont want to be walking!

Out of all these people, 2/3 of them would rather pay to ride in a pickup truck. They're carrying coolers, cameras, seat cushions etc... Trust me...they will pay to ride. It's quite simple...You are going slow anyway(way faster than walking though)
You just pull up and say..'' 20 bux...take's your group to the gate!'' Or 5 bucks a head..or whatever. You will get paid..it's a good service too!

Drop them off, turn around, and do it again.
