broke my steering lock, now key doesn't work

long story short, I broke my steering lock because I was too lazy to go back home 30miles away to get the keys while trying to load it on the trailer. when I got home and put the keys in it to back it off it does nothing. the key just spins in the ignition. I was able to take it apart and use a screw driver in the black box to crank it but now I need it fixed. do I just need to buy a new switch or did I do something alittle more serious? need to fix it soon because using a screwdriver for a key doesn’t look too good. lol
