I messed up while installing my gas tank skid. I thought all of the connections were disconnected but one was not, it would have been fine if I had not tried to move the tank away from the car to work on it.

I broke this

Any ideas on how to fix without buying a new gas tank? Hoping maybe I can plastic weld it or something? Maybe thread a barb fitting into the plastic and attach with normal hose clamps?

is that the return line or some vent line? If so, I would tr some sort of barb like you mention. Can you get that white cap off the tank?

What kind of vehicle is it?? Sometimes these are available from the dealer for around $20 see if you can clean it up and find a part #. If not try to find some level 3 super glue. Normal Krazy Glue is level 1 and wont do the trick. Permetex might make some. If not find a Kimball Midwest dealer they have it. If all Else fails i can ship you my plastic welder(for some Insurance $).

Like others said, use the two part plastic epoxy. I used that stuff on a street bike faring once. Let it cure, sanded it down, painted it black. I sold the bike with it like that and it would hold up to 90mph plus on road trips. Never saw any signs of failure.

Epoxy broke this morning. I am worried even plastic welding will not hold. I may just get a new (used) tank, I have a wheeling trip next weekend I can't miss. Only other thought would be to try to thread a barb fitting into the plastic, but I think it is too small of a inner hole.

i have a used tank sitting out back from an 89 (i think) that has 2 of those white plastic fittings still installed.
let me know if i can help........ill shoot you a pm with my #
