There is only 1 trail you will do. Basically up the dirt road to the top, turn around and come back down. Not worth the trip from Boone, IMO.

You should be fine. May be tight in a few spots but I don't think you'd have issues. Watch for the seasonal and covid closures though.

In that case take old NC105 on the west side of Linville Gorge and you'll have a much nicer ride that's almost as challenging, and way better views.
