Had a good time even with the lack of difficulty. I would like to have been driving that new orange TJ on 215's. I bet they had a blast. I don't think I would reccomend the trail to anyone with lockers though, just not challenging enough. Nice meeting some people off the board though, and I did get to run my RC through the mud hole. Wish someone had pic's of that. A little info to anyone who has the rc crawler, stay out of the mud!!! unless you want to take the axles completly apart for fun.

Ahhh, to be single again. Wheeling 3 weekends in a row...

When i was married, i would go wheelin three weekends in a row. But then again that may explain why im simgle now, lol.:driver: Were there any floating atv's in the mud hole this year? It doesnt look as deep this time.

I went up a few weeks ago and got confused with the trails. Once you get to the big puddle...does trail 1 continue? It got pretty narrow and I did not feel like getting in trouble with a ranger in case it was an atv trail so I turned around. I am not talking about the marked trail you can turn off of if you do not go up to the big mud hole...i know thats an atv trail. Ill add a picture and tell me if that is part of trail 1 or not...its the big but easy to climb rock on what I think is trail 1 pretty much immediately after the mudhole.

If this is still trail 1...what is next? how far away was I from trail 8? Is it more fun to stick with 1 all the way or take 8 down?

Thanks...sorry for the hijack

I have some spare parts if you want them. I killed 2 of those things and quit:D . Hummer body painted beige and grooved tires, ect. Axles are killed:flipoff2:

Nice pics guys, had a great time. It was a great place for my first run in the Jeep (not counting a couple trips to Richlands in stock trim). I'm definitely planning on hitting this trail again if we get a late spring snow.

Big thanks to Chris for organizing this ride.

I may have been the only one with some carnage, other than the RC crawler. I lost a rear sway bar bushing and bolt. It's like they were abducted by aliens.

Still trail 1. You are about 300 yards from the hardest section of this trail. It is a little rock garden, but nothing huge.
There are some pics in this thread from the garden.
If you follow all the way to the top, you can get onto 8 and loop back to one.
All of the group pics on the rock face are from the top of the trail.

What kind of light did you use to do that? (red xtera right?)
Awspence is in the Green XJ. The red xterra is (strnagley enough) RedX.
It is an LED trailer light mounted after the tire is put on.

Thanks for the  .
As for the sway bar bushings, now is a good time to loose the rest of the swaybar.

Didn't you scuff a flare too?

The flares emerged unscathed. It's amazing how tough plastic can be. :flipoff2:

I kept the rear bar on mainly for road handling, during the 30 minute drive home I didn't know anything was different until I noticed the missing bolt when I got home and looked at it. So go figure.

A few of mine

And thanks for lettin us tag along and puttin up with My CrAzY KiD

No problem on the tagging along and I hope I didn't offend you with what I said to your son, but the donuts in the parking lot were a bit much and I couldn't stand by and just watch. I am trying to develop a relationship with the rangers and one bad episode like that could set everythin back.
Glad ya'll could come and I hope you had a good time.

i dont think anyone would argue with you that the kid needed a little bitching at over that,
hes the wheeler of tomorrow, and it sucks that the young kids like me get bad names, when i do all i can to use the trails responsibly

Thanks for the pic's of my little crawler guys. That damn thing gets more attention than my 05' unlimited on 37's.

I appreciate it. I actually commented a few times on the good lines you chose and how well you drove a (mostly) stock rig. I was actually suprised to see the "underage user" under your name when I got back. You handled yourself like someone much older. (in a year or 2:D )

 in july;)

thanks, ive wheeled nearly stock vehicles for the last four years, so i get plenty of practice driving underbuilt rigs, it comes with the whole being broke all the time thing :)

but my cherokee is getting ready to grow a couple more inches and at least one locker is on the way right now, so im excited about that

Stock rig that sounds like something that I have heard befor. I was verry inpressed with the way you and your rig got over the rocks. I just stayed way to the Right.

I would def. like to make a run up there sometime, how far is it from the triad area? Oh and by the way Rocksunlimited, thats the best lookin rubicon ive seen in NC

If you go up through wilkesboro to Lenoir, it shouldn't be too bad. I am not sure where exactly you are though. If you want to MApquest it, find Lenoir and add 15 mins.
