bryson city backpacking? ?

Anyone familiar with the area? A couple guys and myself are looking in that area for long weekend backpacking/fishing trip sometime next month. We would like to hike in the first day, camp, fish the next day, then head back out the third. We would like something that is far from civilisation, maybe not see anyone else for the length of the trip? Anyone that has knowledge of the area or knows of some places in NC like this please chime in. Thanx

There is a entrance into the smokies there called deep creek. I go there for tubing but is on a dead end rd.

I've done some day hiking at Deep Creek back when my wife was pregnant. We went up there for the weekend. We saw a small group of backpackers, so I guess some folks do it up there.

If your wanting to do a long hike just drive into the gorge and hike the AT.
