Good morning, everyone.Me and the wife is planning a trip to Bryson City late August for our 25 year.Anniversary.. Do y'all have any recommendations or personal experiences on a place to stay? Whether it be hotel or Airbnb, thank you

We LOVE that area and have been many times. We have rented houses using VRBO, and also stayed at the Nantahala Village in the main lodge and in some of their cabins.

Things to do in the area that we enjoy:
- Go rafting down the Nantahala River in funyaks/duckies
- Ride the train and do the half day train/rafting combo (see below)
- Check out the Fontana Dam
- Hike in the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest
- Drive by the Cheoah Dam where the movie The Fugitive was filmed
- Deep Creek area for hiking and tubing

We rented this house once. It has nice views, plus dock access on lake Fontana. I would definitely suggest AWD or 4WD though for going down to the lake. We took our inflatable kayaks down there. You can drive down to the back side of the Nantahala Outdoor Center

We camped at Deep Creek two weekends ago. They had some creekside cabins that looked pretty good.
