I have an HP Pavilion PC p7-1439 PC. Bought it new about 3 years ago. Had Win 7 but has been upgraded to 10. I had a guy who would work on it from time to time for me and help set up things but he's been unavailable and not very reliable so I need to try to get it going myself. I am not tech savvy.
It started getting the blue screen a while back and he took it and messed with it for way too long and couldn't figure it out. He said a sound card was causing it... but if I left it off for a few hours it would start back up and run correctly. Now it won't. I've looked online for answers and can't get it to start in safe mode or anything. All I get is blue screen with HP on it. Where can I get some up to date info on how to remedy this?

Unless you have a specific need to go to 10, I'd say do a reformat and reinstall Win 7.

If its BSOD as you are describing Im betting on a corrupt bios at best and a bad mother at worst.
You can replace it with brand new for under $300 with equal quality or go to a dell outlet scratch and dent box and get there for around 200.

You are going to put that much cash and time into fixing this.
