Snappy your right. Drainage and Places to attach straps or bungee's. The owner wanted the top usable to strap small stuff like soft sided totes or coolers to it. His rig wasn't constructed with a whole lot of space for cargo. Its a custom built to fit the hole kinda deal. Transman he puts straps, clevis's, winch remotes ect. in the box. It all stays secure and nice and dry no matter the conditions. JC it does look a bit like a fancy chest. I think my wife liked it! I've got several sketches and thing rolling in my head for manly type décor. Kinda like my sons diamond deck bunk beds I posted a few yrs back.
