Buggy chassis painting

We also use CRC in Mooresville with good success. Also, Diversified coatings in Statesville is very good. Both do tube/race chassis on the regular. If you plan to powdercoat, don't waste the money on painting it or just rattle can it for now as it will all get blasted off no matter what.

I own a custom paint shop, painting tube chassis sucks. I wouldn't pay my painter to paint my own chassis unless it was some crazy color that can't get in powder.

Ok , its rusting now and I can't clean the mud off. So I want paint on it for now because there is some stuff I want to add and change. So you say rattle can it for now. Should I go ahead and sand blast it before I rattle can it?

CRC does all my powder coat - from frames to wheels to cages etc.. Highly recommend them when you are ready

If you plan to coat after you make the changes and you are just dealing with surface rust don't sweat it (assuming we're talking a few weeks or so not months). They will sandblast before powder and that takes care of surface rust.

Sand blast it would require stripping it all the way down. Find some paint that will turn rust and protect it and then paint it on with a brush to get you by and not have to cover everything

x2. I would get some rustoleum in a gal can and brush it on. Wont have to disassemble near as much as shooting with a rattle can.

We powder coat. It's a drive, but worth it. Weve done quite a few. Home

Thanks for the suggestions. I am trying to buy some time to wheel while and finish the remodel on my house and then get back to fixing and adding things. I plan on rattle canning it for now.
