Build/Transmission opinion

Thinking about starting project....and i'd like to get peoples opinion on what they think about the overall setup.

Fully tube chassis
4.3L Vortec FI
4L60e Tranny
D300 w/ 4:1 LoMax's
D60 Front
14 Bolt Rear
Looking at around 40"-42" rubbers

what do yall think? my only concern is do you think that the 4L60e is stout enough? i know they put it was V8 in half tons for a long time.

this would be my concern unless you have a freebie 4.3 or are going single seater small....no way Id go 4.3

5.3/6.0's are just too cheap
 
I'm running a 700r4 wich is basically the same as your 4l60e. I upgraded the basket, alto red clutches, billet servo, and tricked the vb out. My big supercharged motor (built 3800) will be pushing 350hp and I dont see any problems with what you want to do.....
