My question is a stock dana 60 front axle as strong as a built front dana 44? Dana 44 has detroit locker, yukon R&P, superior evolution axle shafts, ctm's, drive flanges. I have broken two stub shaft, 3 ctm's, and a butt load o warn HD hubs. Should I try RCV shaft (I could get a 60 for what they cost)? Also what would a dana 44 with these parts on it be worth? Thanks for any enlightement.

This, again?

D60 with 35 spline stubs. Given the parts you have already broken, you need to step up to a D60, or reduce the amount of abuse you give your D44.

Is that even a question? 60 of course.......
You can sink a couple grand into a 44, and still not have anything close to a 60. I see 44 shafts and joints poppin left and right.

I have a very heavy 78 Bronco with 460 and 38" boggers and heavy MRW beadlocks. My front is a 44 with yukon shafts, longfield joints, lockright, and stock full turn hubs. No problems and I drive it hard. The old full turn hubs are never gave any problems and I see new premuims break all the time. The sheer pins in the lockright had to be replace with 1/4" rod.

Dude, it sounds like you definitely need to step up to a D60.
