Built To Take The Heat

OOPS!!!!! I broke the steering box off of the frame. It is an easy fix though. I am going to plate the frame with 3/8 where the box mounts. That should fix it. The install date on the 4.7 gears and the dual cases is March 4th 2006. We should be able to do it all in one day. We will be recieving a little help from the Toyota Master, Bud Rosenburger from www.BUDBUILT.com. He is building a custom crossmember and skid plate to test on my truck. If it holds up to all of my beating and bashing, he may start selling one like it. We will have to do some floorboard mods due to the fact that we are going to flat belly the MetalMangler Toyota. The quick build will take place at Justin Sigmon's shop in Lenoir NC.

Jeff breaks stuff in his backyard.....

It is an open invite if anyone wants to come and b.s. while the rest of us work though

I'm riddin this weekend fellas. The white instrument of death is in need of some tlc or.....a whole new truck.

ps- when driving down the road at speed with no doors...shield yourself from the flying mudd clobs....they hurt(ouch)

WOO HOO, frame is fixed and ready to wheel again this weekend.
Here is a pic of the new clutch for the MetalMangler's dual case install. I thought I would try a kevlar clutch to see how it held up to the abuse.

I run the exact same one, no problems to report so far. But....its only been in the truck since last summer.

Also noticed you are in elkin, im near raleigh, but my parents have a place outside of Sparta just off 21. Maybe we can wheel sometime when im in the area.

I love Grant. He fathered the majority of my children. I only let him because he drove this really sweet Jeep truck with woodgrain on the sides. :)

John, the old clutch was showing signs of age. It still works fine, but in extreme situations, it slips. Another thing, I couldn't resist this opportunity to unleash the WOODEN WARRIOR for a good laugh. I be the PLAYGROUND PIRATE behind the wheel.
CumminsDZL, I actually live in a community called Thurmond. My house is on highway 21, at the bottom of the mountain, before you start up towards Sparta. Give me a ring next time you are up this way, and we will go wheeling.

Wow last week boggers..This week a huge wooden truck with monsterous tires. Are you going to remove any lugs for traction or are you just going to "Jake it"?

Here are some updated pics of my build up.

Okay, now THAT is just plain COOL! One of those would be great in just about ANY playground!

I don't guess you'd have plans and a parts/cost list lying around anywhere, huh?

The Golden Wrench Award goes to Jake Mitchel for his ability to remove a Toyota transmission useing nothing but pizza and beer.
