found something i want and its fairly cheap because no title. it is in SC and coming with a bill of sale. ive asked for the VIN and going to get it checked to make sure its not stolen but how big of a pain is it to get a title if i buy it?

I went through this with a truck I inherited, the title I got didn't match the VIN (not even close).
I got a bond for $100 from my local insurance broker, filled out the paperwork, got the truck inspected by the state troopers, submitted the paperwork to the DMV and got the title a few weeks later.
Not nearly as painful as I was led to believe, getting an appointment for highway patrol to inspect it was the hardest part. Make sure you get your inspectors name AND an inspection report from them before you leave (there are a lot of failure points between inspection and the DMV having what they need, the name and paperwork will give you a place to start if you need it).

SC makes it even easier.
The fact that the seller cant produce a title on a 65....is a potential red flag

If its anywhere in the upsatte and you want eyes on it before you drive down holler
