looking at buying a atv how can I check to see if it's not stolen and is paid off

Found ncib.org checks if it's been reported stolen or total loss. Still can't find a way to check for Lein's

I've never bought or sold an atv with a title. If someone still owes money on it, most likely it's a personal loan. Therefore, not a problem.

Some folks borrow the money from places like Sheffield and end up selling it. Instead of paying it off, they'll use the cash to buy another toy.

If it is a nc atv, it won't have a title at all. Nc won't issue one. SC has atv titles.
