Pretty much only looking at Miller's, but other high quality machines considered.

This will be used for work (already have a TIG @ home), needs to be portable, probably needs to be able to operate on 120V if needed, and would LIKE to be able to weld aluminum...

Oh yea, prefer not to buy a new one to save some $$. I don't think I'll be able to have it all, probably leaning more towards the Maxstar 200, only downside is it can't weld aluminum, but most of our stuff is stainless anyways.

Anyone have other ideas?

Thanks

Can't go wrong with the Econotig. They weld great for a budget machine and every once in a while they show up fairly cheap used. The biggest drawback for your use is I believe its only 220v. I've used one quite a bit and I'd recommend it to anybody.

If you want a woody when you weld and can spend the coin go for a dynasty 350. I can't keep the inside of my mask from foggin over when I use it. LOL I think I may spend too much time behind the mask. You can't appreciate TIG welding till you try one of those things out.

The Maxstar is a badass piece. It's what the shop at work bought to replace the burnt up stick welder with. I think when I buy a Tig this will be the unit. I like how easy it is to change from 115 to 230 also.
