So picked up a 14ff its a c&c tho it seems about same width as my waggy 44 front i have sittin for my 96 Zj has any of yall heard of someone doing this i looked online found nothing mentioning Cab 14ff only semi float on cherokees or damn dana 60 which is NOT an option, and yes i know perches shock mounts C arms and all has to be welded on but is there enough room on the axle or do i have to truss it or sell it or would shafts work on a srw 14ff?:beer:? Thanks to the man that has a clue if this axle would work for my jeep? I plan on puttin disk brakes on it also before it goes on!

Not exactly sure what your asking but they are about the same width. C&C 14b = 63.5ish and waggy 44 = 65ish. What suspension set up are you running. Also with enough cutting and welding you can make anything fit, all comes down to your skills.

Pretty sure he's talking about whether or not there's enough space from flange-to-flange, minus the diff, to weld on control arm brackets, spring perches, and shock mounts.

Can't help ya, I've only used the 14bff in a DRW leaf-spring ton -truck. Looked at putting a C&C one in an old XJ of mine.

Between the two of those things I'd guess that there's plenty of room for all the bracketry. Your stock rear is a centered-diff, narrower axle, right?

My main thoughts would be lift height and ground clearance stuff - that diff is huuuuuge man. My plans were to shave it...

Next would be the drums like you mentioned. Those things are big and heavy.

None of this comes from actually trying to put one in a ZJ so take it all with a 50 lb bag of rock salt.

Lol k well i appreciate it i figured 1/2 in spacers for rear or 1 in would make em bout same width... and yeah the axle is huge and stubby in my opinion im a decent fab/welder well see when it all begins i guess... ill start a thread when i start it

When putting new axles in my ZJ, I was very glad I went with the Clayton High clearance axle bracket kit. They make it in different axle diameters to fit what ever you need. And having nothing hang down below the tubes is awesome!
And the adjustable trac bar height makes eliminating bump steer a breeze

Check out mallcrawlin for ZJ info man

Yes, you should be able to fit the brackets on it. I have done it on a TJ and the ZJ mounts are just a bit narrower depending on the swaybar mount you want to use. If you measure from the back of the drum mounting flange to the back of the drum mounting flange I can tell you for sure but it should not be a problem.

And just for info sake, Waggie 44s are not ~65" typically unless you are talking the wide track stuff that was used in the J10s and J20s.......and those examples are semi float so you are not dealing with the long full float spindle and hub like the 14 bolt. If it is not wide enough from drum mounting to drum mounting, you may need to go to the SRW setup.

Give us a shout if we can help with anything. We carry the Clayton's high clearance brackets (which you will need to add to if you are not using their lift kit) as well as our own HD control arm mount kit that is complete. We also have a jig for putting the brackets on so if we can help let me know.

see the 14b bible on pirate for all the combinations of 14b housings and different hubs you can use to achieve different widths.. I ran a truck 14b with c&c hubs for a long time when my zj was full bodied, it fit great and gave a lot of piece of mind that i'd never break a 14b with tires that'd fit in the fender wells lol..

hell yeah... Was thinkin clayton long arm on it if i dont make my own im lookin up the high clearance kit they have too the 14 is 63 wms from what i found out aint had a chance to measure tho their kickin my ass at the race track so no time for my rides at the moment!!! Thanks tho thats good info ill do some more research for sure!
