I've read lots of build threads where ppl use bushing between mounting roll cage to frame. and ive seen them just weld it directly to the frame.

why do people do both? pro's/con's?

i'm prob going to just tie it directly to the frame for simplicity and cheaper.

the bushing allows the body and cage to flex relative to the frame. If the body flexes relative to the frame it will need to flex the frame or try to tear a hole in the floor. If you weld it all solid, you might as well take out the body bushings too.

Having the bushings might also limit vibrations from the frame, but i think they add a potential failure point with the bolt (imo).

I could remove the body bolts and bushings, that would help center my body on the frame better. (it is 3/8 off on front and 5/8 on the rear in the same direction)

my jeep will most likely never see the road, but if its all tied together it would be "like" a buggy.
i'd rather the frame not flex, that would cause fatigue over time. (maybe really long time)

I probly wouldn't remove the bolts, just the rubber between the body and frame. I would recommend tying the frame into the cage as much as possible front to back if you want to stiffen it up as much as a buggy and make the suspension work the most.
