Went with several friends and the trails were in great shape, Did not see any new trail markers yet but also just read that about a 1/3 went up the same weekend so must have just missed them. Weather and the leaves were beautiful.
The Bath House had been painted on the outside but I saw no changes on the inside (yet, I hope). There were some fall decorations put up at the office building.
I saw no changes in the camping area (again yet, I hope) I saw new landscaping at the pond and it did look really nice. I’m still in the wait and see mode but from what I saw this weekend the increase in fees are not adding up to the stated improvements, as a matter of fact on Saturday morning about ½ hour before daylight I was in the ladies bath house with no heat on and the lights went out. A guy came right on in to the breaker box area in the ladies room to attempt to trip the circuit and scared me to death, of course I probably did the same to him as I had to step out of the shower and open up the main door so that I could see to find my clothes. The power went out several times that morning and it could have been a fluke thing. There were no toilet paper or paper towels. The first stall in the ladies room still rocks and is still sitting on rotted out 2x4’s. The second stall still leaks and has water standing around the base. The heat was never on.
I’m making these comparisons from my visit in July 2010.
By Saturday afternoon after our ride there were nicely folded hand towels above the sink and step out towels in front of the showers. I was told to compare the fees to a “resort fee”, this is not a resort. Maybe I was looking for too many improvements. I don’t want this thread to turn into a fee argument; the fees are what they are.
