Just a lil shout out to @Reid .

Went to the Winston-Salem Dash baseball game,with the family, last night. We had a great time..the Home team won!

Instead of walking with the crowds back to our parking spot,then fighting downtown,after game traffic..I gave Camel City Cartman (Reid)a call.

One of his drivers met us at the main gate and whisked us away like rock stars. Back to our car, which was several blocks away, before most were even thru the exit gate.

It was pretty cool!

I've been trying to come up an excuse to hit Winston just so I can take a ride.

@RatLabGuy the drivers make most of their money on tips. They work on contract. we pay them a small stipend (although it seems to take up a majority of our financial pie chart). Kinda the opposite of a traditional cab, where a driver rents out the vehicle for a night and makes his wages off a percentage of the fares.


on a friday or saturday night a driver might get tipped anywhere from $80-250 bucks depending on how busy downtown is and how he manages his time. the rest of the week is hit or miss. it could be really good or zilch.

obviously on good nights the tips get bigger as the night goes on. People tend to get more generous the more they've had to drink. but an average tip is about $5. $20s seem to be a popular denomination at the end of the night.
