I have a 40 ft toy hauler with a rolled epdm roof. They sun down here in Louisiana hasn’t been kind and I’m getting a couple leaks that are starting to cause the wood sheeting to soften. Has anyone done a roof replacement on a camper even close to this size? I have watched all sorts of videos and such and it doesn’t look technical just not sure if I’m missing something. Quotes to have it done at a shop are from 6k-10k. Materials for the replacement are about 1,200-1,500 depending on company. Fill me in!!

Honestly I winged the roof replacement on my camper. It was a large slide in. We had some of the white rubber membrane they use on commercial rooftops at the shop I work at and I used that. After replacing all the rotted wood I used rubber cement and glued the membrane down. Then used gummy gasket between mebrane and molding on the sides and screwed molding on. Then just for extra measure I calked the top edge of molding. I had camper for about 2-3 more years after I fixed roof and never had any more roof leaks.

Now hopefully someone will chime in on the correct way to do it.

I'd try to find a commercial roofing contractor that puts down rubber roofing and see what they say? We've got several stationary reefer trailers that the roofs are getting in bad shape on. When the roof was being put on our newest building my dad talked to the roofer and he said they could rubber roof them no problem.
