This is probably a dumb question, and one I can not win, but just how does a popup camper qualify as a motor vehicle when it does not have a motor? Any ideas or opinions on this?

We have to pay property tax on the camper, but it's not much.

Dang Don! You get a Senior discount on your real estate. You trying to get one on the trailer? Tell em it's really a house, just has wheels under it.:p

Well..... it is a house... with wheels under it, but it doesn't have a motor! :shaking::lol:

I believe that is what this bill must be... like cars & trucks, they have fixed it so you can't get a tag until all the various government agencies get their little piece of the cake. $28 bucks won't break me, but I don't have to like it. :shaking:

Can you get a multi year tag? I have one on my car trailer that is good for as long as I own it and never has to be renewed.

Not on a camping trailer. But camping trailer tags are cheaper.

I have permanent tags on two regular trailers, and a boat trailer, but the DMV said no/no when I asked about the popup.

yep, not on RV type trailers

technically you're "supposed" to claim the trailers with permanent tags on your property tax bill every year anyway. I don't think many do.

kinda like you used to have to do for your dog in JoCo
