Im looking for a campground (pop up) near corrola. somthing good for the family that I will not have to drive for a hour or more to get to the top and drive on the beach. Ive been looking in google but its hard to tell from pictures. Even a place on the inlet side would be cool. Any info would be great thanks.

If I were looking for a camping site, I'd look more towards the Oregon Inlet direction or maybe further south towards Hatteras. In my opinion the northside of the beach (Corolla area) is really pretty to sight see but kinda gotten expensive in the last 10 yrs.About a month ago you could get a really nice house,with room for 10, three story with all the goodies a block from the ocean for about 600.00 a week in the Corolla area. Now the seasonal rates in effect they've atleast tripled in price.

^^^That's what I do. I stay at the Oregon Inlet Campground (right across from the fishery)...and it's usually 40-45 minutes to Corolla.
