There is an add on ebay for instructions on how to make your posi lock system for 35.00. Is this possible or is it a scam? Have any of you guys built your own system? Just trying to save money where I can.
Thanks
Guy

Are you talking about "posi" as in limited slip differential? Because I believe what the add you speak of is talking about is the dumbassed vacuum disconnect in the front axle.

You definately can make your own Posi Loc knockoff to replace the factory vaccum disconnect on the passenger side axle shaft on Wranglers. An even easier way is to open up the disconnect, pull the snap rings, slide the connecting ring over and put the snap rings back, or something to that effect, effectively locking two axle pieces together. You can also rig it so you have to get out and manually slide the shift fork over to lock the shafts together kinda like getting out to lock in your hubs.

Yes. I am looking to replace the factory vaccum disconnect. I would like to be able to shift it from inside the jeep. Does anyone have instructions on how to do this?
Thanks

Yes it is possible to do a posi lock and removed the factory vaccum disconnect on a Wrangler. Do a search on the net there are all kinds of articles on doing this at home with a brake cable from a bike and a few other odds and ends.
