Just wondering if I can run a window unit without a window? I have a window but its to small. This is also going into a building so nothing fancy required but dont think I am ready to just cut a hole. Also the building is not insulated 15x10 ft. AC is 12000 btu. Do you think I will have much success with it? Just wanting to try to get things bearable for the upcoming summer heat.

You will have water leaking into floor and also you will have heat discharge out through the back of it. Thats why the back half sits outside. You would be defeating the purpose without using it properly.

I have a portable AC unit in my shop. It has a little 4" discharge to get the hot air outside and a small drain pan.

You need to get the discharge outside or you'll be heating and cooling at the same time.

And in the winter you can turn it around and heat your shop.

I used a window A/C unit with the garage door closed down on it, and then just some thing in front of the rest of the door (plywood, etc.) to blockj the breeze. Took the garage from 90's into the 80's, and it wasn't a very big AC.

a 10x15 will be great with a 12k.
