Has anyone been to cane creek? We are going next weekend, what all is there to do? Any good place close to eat? Or maybe it's called cane creek park?

As far as I could tell nothing is close to it. Burlington is 20 miles one way and Liberty is about the same the other way. Otherwise, it's in the middle of nowhere as far as I am concerned. Big grass field basically. I think their big thing is a blue grass festival. A small pond too I think but not much of a place to visit IMO unless you have some other reason to be in that area. Not sure why you are choosing it but over in Mebane (south of town) is a new place called Jones Station. (maybe 2-3 years old, very clean full hook ups). Much nicer place but still not alot to do other than civilization is much closer and they have some damn trees at least.

I live just down the road from Cane Creek near Waxhaw. It's good for the family. During this time of year it can get pretty busy. There is a small lake you can fish, rent small boats, a little beach. Nice easy walking trails. Should be plenty of campsites. Not much to eat around the park. I would stock up on food in Waxhaw, and there are good places in Waxhaw ( it's a tiny town) .

It will be me, wife, and my 2 boys. We got a site almost "beach" front. What's good in waxhaw?

Maxwells near the train tracks, city tavern is good but a little pricey for what you get. Stuffed olive, and el Vallarta near the food lion. Cross roads coffee is good too if you ate out that way early in the morning. Cane creek isn't a substitute for a state park but it's nice and camping is convenient. Andrew Jackson state park (nothing super special) is about 15 or 20 minutes from there in Lancaster.
